It’s about adjusting the aftertouch on my MIDI controller to raise the pitch a semitone, and it was driving me crazy.

I experimented with various MIDI controllers and software to try to find the most efficient way to achieve this. I play a lot of jazz, and the ability to change pitch slightly is critical to the expressiveness of the music. I’ve tried different modulation sources and assigned them to aftertouch, but the results are inconsistent.

I even tried to emulate some classic analog synths where the aftertouch was very smooth and expressive. It’s very disappointing not to achieve that level of control.
