Hi! I am trying to pair the CME X Key Air with a Windows 10 computer that has an Asus BT Dongle (https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/USBBT400/)
Do you guys know if that is supported. Why wouldn’t it work? It seems connected for about 30 seconds. The blue light stops blinking and the XKeyPlus software states connected. Then it looses the connection.
I also tried connecting to my Sony Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Tablet. Same error basically.
Hi Mogge,
The Xkey Air used new Bluetooth MIDI standard which is proposed by Apple and accept by MIDI association recently, so until now only macOS, iOS and Android 6.0 have native driver in the system, Windows did not release their native driver yet. If you want to use it on Windows, please use our WIDI BUD (www.widibud.com), we implement the Bluetooth MIDI protocol in the dongle so that you can connect with Xkey Air via Bluetooth.dwe
My Sony phones does have Android 6.0. That should work correct?
Technically yes, but we did not get Android 6.0 device to test yet, will try it asap and let you know. Sorry.
Hi Mogge,
I tested Android 6.0 OS, since the Bluetooth MIDI is a new standard, and it is not like other Bluetooth device such as mouse or normal keyboard, so it requires the special support from each music software (same in iOS). Until now I only find one App is compatible with Bluetooth MIDI standard on Android, the name is “BLE MIDI Sample App”, but it is very simple, just one basic sound, no more other features. We will try to find better solution.
Thanks for getting back to me Yitian!
