I’ve loved my xKey37 since it first came out, but I’m becoming more and more annoyed by the noisy plastic keys. Does anyone have a solution for dampening the noise?

I’d be willing to pop the back cover off and add some dampening material around the keys, if that’s what it takes, but I haven’t reached that point yet.

Another possible solution is to make a keyboard skin made out of thin flexible material to block the noise.

    Any suggestions are welcome,
    Bob

Dear Bob, if you add a soft material as a pad under the Xkey, it will avoid some noise. In addition, since Xkey is very sensitivity, you do not need to “hit” the key but can be more gentle to “touch” or “press” the key, they will help too.

Using a pad is a good idea and I will give it a try. But it would be difficult to play the keys more gently since I only play them as hard as necessary to achieve the full range of velocity.

The noise is annoying when playing quietly at home. A friend recorded a jam with 3 musicians and myself on the xKey37 and it sounded like someone was typing in the background.

Do you have a new model that significantly reduces the key noise?

    Thanks for your support,
    Bob

Dear Bob, if you want to get high velocity, you can use Xkey Plus software to increase the sensitivity of all keys, it is very simple way, please try it.
Sorry we do not have new model with reduced noise yet. It really depends on how do you play the keys, please try to use Xkey Plus feature to tune the key sensitivity and match your habit.
