I know this may be a stupid question, but i just purchased the Xkey 37…what i want to know is how can i map the aftertouch to control say, dynamics in a Kontakt instrument. specifically, i want to use the Xkey to control the dynamics or expression in Spitfire’s Libraries. they usually have those mapped to CC1 and CC11, i want to use the poly aftertouch on the Xkey to control that. so say i have a string patch up, by pressing harder on the Xkeys i’d like to control the swell and volume…
normally in Kontakt, i can use midi learn to se the CC controller, but so far it hasn’t worked…am I missing something fundamental here?
thanks for your patience…
m
Dear MCR,
Thanks for your message. Normally you should set the polyphonic aftertouch to control message in the Kontakt software. I am not so familiar with Kontakt, so I will ask our people to check for you. In the meantime, you can join our FB user group to ask, I think some of our pro users may help.

Dear MCR,
You can look at it Kontakt manual P.336.
Or this:
sorry guys
none of this is helping me…if i wanted to map the poly aftertouch to say CC#11 in a Kontakt instance of Spitfire Albion One Strings…(which has learn CC automation feature…) how should i go about doing it please?
thanks
m
Dear MCR, from what we understand at Kontakt manual P.336, you can select polyphonic aftertouch as “external source”, and select CC#11 as destination controller. Or in sound module editing page to select polyphonic aftertouch. Sorry we are not the Kontakt expert, maybe you can ask NI tech support about this question?
thank you for your patience…
i was hoping someone here who actually owned the 37 would be using aftertouch as a midi controller…
i will verify and see what Kontakt says..
thank you again…
Thanks MCR. Sorry I cannot help more.
