Hi all, I hope somebody can help,

Whilst I have been sequencing and using MIDI stuff for ‘donkeys years’, I’m a bit of a newbie to setting up from scratch.

I have just bought a UF7 and I am trying to connect to a Mac laptop running El Capitan (… for use with Logic pro X). I’ve downloaded and installed the old UF driver for Mac (… I’ve checked in the driver folder and it is definitely there), but I cannot get any ‘MIDI In’ data registering in Logic Pro. Can anybody advise?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi, Grant

Thanks very much for your message.I’m sorry, there is no USB driver for New Mac OS by now.The UFv1 are discontinued and new drivers are not being issued. I can understand your reaction to this. I have had the same experience when up-grading to a new OS and finding that some software and hardware will not work on the new system.
However there is a solution for you. Although there are no drivers, you can overcome this by connecting your UF7 to your PC with USB MIDI Interface to let them work again.Or if your sound card has midi port,it’s ok,too.

So in order to connect UF7 to any computer without proper USB drivers, we can use any USB-MIDI interface, like this?: https://www.amazon.com/Roland-UM-ONE-MK2-MIDI-Interface/dp/B00967UN50

    Hi, Grant

Yeah, this USB cable that you give the link should work with UF to computer. Please make sure this cable has plug and play USB driver for computer. Thanks.
