Does the xcable (midi, sustain,expression) for xkey 37 has to be snapped in for it to work? The usb is a tight fit but fits. I have a trouble connecting the plug into the keyboard. I tried with much force but it remains loose. Is there any issue with the connector on the keyboard. Any suggestions would be helpful thanks.

Some of Xcable feels loose than USB, but it should work without problem. Do you mean your Xcable has no function? If yes, probably it is defective, then you need to contact our local distributor to get replacement. Sorry.

Yes there is no function even with loose fit. 2nd unit from Pitbull Audio with the the same result.

Do you mean after you connect Xcable with Xkey37 and other MIDI device (also pedals), no any MIDI message send to external MIDI devices and also no pedal message input? You need to keep USB cable connected with computer to get power for Xkey37. Please confirm.

Not using computer to power xkey. Mainly use iPad3 to use apps. Will try your suggested setup and report results, thanks.

IPad is also ok, just confirm you get power. 😉
Please try to us Xkey Plus to update firmware of Xkey37 to latest version and do “reset to factory”, then let us see if it gets normal.

I think what he meant was the cable is loose on the keyboard end.. I just got 6 xkey 37’s and all are the same way there is a small gap between the keyboard and the cable plug..i can put a fingernail into it… seems to work but it pops out easily and doesn’t stay attached very well. A locking cable or a thicker cable would have been better.. i fear for the long term robustness of this.. and hope it doesn’t easily break.. and if it does can we buy replacements..? I suspect they will be needed.

The connector is the only one we can find which is slim enough to fit in Xkey37 size, it was supplied from a Japanese manufacturer. We will replace the new one if your Xcable is defective in warranty period, and sure we have spare part for order in long term.
