Tagged: Macbook Pro, USB Problem
My XKey 25 worked fine for four months, but one day it stopped being recognized by my macbook pro–OS10.7.5–in both ports. The USB ports work fine for pen tablet and hard drives, but xkey just blinks and does not show up in the system profiler report. Thinking it might be a power issue, I got a 7 port powered hub, which immediately seemed to solve the problem. But after a short time, the XKey quit and began to blink, disappearing from the system profiler report. As I moved the xkey plug from socket to socket, each socket worked for a short time, then back to the blinking light, and after visiting all seven ports, no ports will recognize it even though hard drives will still work in ALL ports. (Yes, tried a different cable, yes, shut down, restarted, reset pram and smc.)
I am in Mongolia for six more months, and so service opportunities are limited, but because everything else still works in these ports I can’t help thinking that there is a software issue telling the ports not to recognize the keyboard. Any suggestions welcome here. Thanks in advance.
It seems the USB port on your Xkey was defective. Please contact your dealer or distributor to get replacement or support.
Thank you Zhao Yitian. Keyboard was purchased in August, five months ago. Neither Amazon nor the seller, EverythingMusic, in the USA will accept the return.

Just wanted to report that with Zhao Yitian’s help here, I made arrangements for a replacement keyboard on a visit to Seoul, and it is working just fine. Thanks for arranging this with your Korean distributor, Soundcat.
